Tilos Island Greece, 2013

11 August, 2013
From Panormitis we motored the 24 nm to the tiny little island of Tilos which is one of the smallest and most remote islands in the Dodecanese. There was a bit of a blow on the way so we managed to arrange a berth in minuscule Livadhia harbour. As the weather worsened many more yachts came in, even an Italian Rally group, so that by the end of the day the harbour was jam packed with yachts. There was absolute chaos for the two nights we stayed in the harbour, but we were safe enough.

Looking Towards Livadhia Harbour

Hamamas in the harbour before the "invasion"
Before the invasion! Hamamas can be seen across the harbour.

Starting to Fill up.
Ferries Arrive regularly.

Fran and Hamamas in the full harbour!
Typical Greek Hillside
The Blue Star Ferry was so large it had to moor on the outside wall.
No "room in the inn" in this Harbour!
There was not much to see on the island and hardly any stores but we did manage to do some “hunter gathering” as well as taking some photos. This is not an island we have any desire to go back to but we are pleased we saw it.
