Panormitis Bay, Symi Island, Greece, 2013

10 August 2013
Peaceful  Panormitis Bay on the west side of Symi Island  has one of Symi's major tourist attractions. The Monastery of Michael of Panormitis which was first built in 5th or 6th century, however the imposing present day buildings, were built in 18th century.

Huge day tripper ferries from Rhodos disgorge hundreds of passengers who spend about 40 minutes at the site then the siren blows and they all have to rush back to the ferry and are whisked off to another tourist attraction.

We were pleasantly surprised to see our friends from the yacht "Kerching"  arrive in the anchorage. It was great catching up with them as we last saw them in Alanya (Turkey) in Sept 2012.
