Fredricksburg, Texas, USA, 2014

10 Jan, 2014
Just west of the LBJ National Park is the lovely old  town of Fredricksburg, the hometown of Admiral Nimitz (Admiral of the Pacific Fleet during the WWII). Our reasons for travelling to Fredricksburg was to visit The National Museum of the Pacific War (refer to an earlier Post)  and the Admiral Nimitz Museum.
However, we were in for a  delightful surprise because arriving in Fredricksburg felt like stepping back into a 1950's town  because of  the conglomeration of old world touristy stores, colourful buildings, German restaurants and Texan friendliness. We very quickly found ourselves lost in the charm and nostalgia of this western town and wished we had more time to spend there.
