Denton, Texas, USA, 2014

4 Jan, 2014
On yet another day trip from Dallas we visited the small city of Denton mainly to check out the enormous second hand book store! We were certainly not disappointed and most of us came away with treasures of one sort or another.
The beautiful historic County Courthouse, on Denton Square, was erected in 1895 using Texas limestone and is still used as a courthouse. It is as also home to the Denton County Museum with a excellent record of  the pioneering days.
Denton is  popular for music  festivals and it also hosts the North Texas State Fair and Rodeo and the Denton Arts and Jazz festival bringing over 300,00 visitors to the city each year. We were so pleased we were there during the off season! This was a fun day out and we rewarded ourselves with ICECREAM!
