Batumi- Out & About-Georgia- May 2012

Out and About in Batumi.
In late May 2012 we went on a land  tour to the Turkish Black Sea Coast with a group of other cruisers from Marmaris.  While on the trip we also went on a day trip from Hopa,Turkey across the border into Batumi, Georgia which is also on the Black Sea Coast.

It was difficult getting photos as we were whisked about by a very fast bus driver! However, in the afternoon we were able to do a walking tour of the city as well as spending time wandering the streets trying to get a photos as a "taste of Batumi."  Bare in mind that this city once belonged to Russia and now is trying to catch up to the modern world. Hence the interesting modern constructions.

Here is a collection of some of those amazing old, modern, weird and renovated buildings!

We had to walk across the Border to Turkey

Although we enjoyed the day we would have preferred to have spent the night in Batumi so we wouldn't have been too rushed  as there was lots more to see and do.
