Alanya Marina Turkey Oct 2011

Alanya 11 Oct 2011
We are just back from a Visa run to the gorgous little Greek Is of Kastellorizo (Meyisti or Meis is the Turkish name) We spent many hours on buses getting to and from Kas (Kash in Turkey). Then a 20 minuite ferry ride to the island a few hours on the island and then back on the ferry to Kas. We spent the night in a lovely pension in Kas. Oh such a hard chore!
The Turkish bus system is incredible always on time and leaves about every half an hour to wherever you are going. The long distance buses are fantastic as they usually have 2 drivers who share the driving and the "host duties" which includes serving tea and coffee and cake tec. Each seat has it's own DVD player like on some of the planes . They have aircon and stop frequently at interesting restaurants for the major meals. Best of all they are not expensive!
Antalya Otogar (Bus terminal) was as huge as some of the airports we have been in. There must have been 20 long distances buses leaving the terminal at 22.00 hours to places over Turkey.
