We had a nice day being tourists yesterday. Hired a car
and drove to a nice touristy spot called Geopark and were able to take a cable
car ride up to a mountain top and soak up the beautiful views. The cable car
was fun. Just like flying in a small aeroplane. Did a lot of walking too. Monkeys
everywhere. they are quite cheeky because they are familiar with tourists. One
tried to snatch my bag but that was my fault for having it in my hand near the
ground instead of on my shoulder. Anyhow I was quick enough so no problem. They
can also get quite aggressive but these were pretty placid.
I probably also haven't mentioned that our marina also
has some spectacular resident birds. We are particularly impressed with the sea
eagles which soar above our island using the updrafts and rarely flapping their
wings. We also have resident horn bills and on occasions we get within about
3metres of them. Not Bad! However they are most impressive coming home to their
roosts in the distant trees. They glide in like jet liners from a long way off
and again without visibly moving their wings. (Tom)
