The Cathedral of San Fernando in downtown San Antonio is one of the oldest active cathedrals in the USA having been built between 1738 and 1750. Like many churches of it's time it has been extended and added to over the years and many of San Antonio's historical events took place in and around the Cathedral.
The beautiful stained glass windows were added in 1920. Today the Cathedral is absolutely magnificent as it underwent a major restoration in 2003.
